The indiscriminate use of phosphate fertilizers, besides being responsible for great environmental impacts; might lead to an early depleting of phosphate rock deposits. The knowledge about P mobilization is mostly restricted to the characterization of PGPB strains under controlled conditions. It is important to determine the conditions that favor the colonization of the rhizosphere by phosphorus-mobilizing bacteria, as well as the functions related to the release of this nutrient. We hypothesize that less efficient cultivars in phosphorus absorption, insoluble sources of phosphorus and liming conditions of phosphorus in the soil could enrich the rhizosphere microbiome related to the availability of this nutrient. We performed a completely randomized factorial experiment with two common bean cultivars contrasting in phosphorus uptake efficiency growing in triple superphosphate and rock phosphate gradients. Sequencing of 16S rRNA amplicons were performed to access the structure of rhizosphere community. Phyloseq and Tax4Fun R Packages were used to access the rhizosphere microbial structure and predict the functional capabilities. The microbial community structure and the genes involved in phosphorus mobilization were summarized with multivariate ordination analysis. We observed that different doses and sources of phosphate applied showed significant effect in shaping the composition of the rhizosphere. The cultivar less efficient in phosphorus uptake recruits more functions involved in phosphate transport more than P efficient cultivar when growing in phosphorus limiting conditions. Different sources of phosphorus do not affect the functions involved in phosphorus cycle, however, it plays important role in diversity and structure of the bacterial community in the rhizosphere. |
